Register or unregister DNS subdomains

Contents

Points to remember

Read the following specifications before you register your DNS subdomain:

  • Subdomain name (mandatory input): A unique subdomain name that you want to register with the DNS domain of Smart Tools (clm-poc.com). Only alphanumeric characters are allowed. No special characters are allowed. For example, acme123. If you register a subdomain name, acme123, the name will be registered and used as acme123.clm-poc.com
  • IP address (mandatory input): Valid IPv4 address associated with your subdomain. Example: 192.0.2.10. IPv6 addresses are not allowed.
  • Duplicate DNS subdomain name: If a DNS subdomain name is already registered, then the sequence of duplicate entries are evaluated and appended with numbers from 1 to 20. For example, if acme.clm-poc.com exists then acme-1.clm-poc.com is evaluated as a unique name and added to the DNS record. After 20 attempts, a random number generated between 1 and 100000 is used as the suffix for the DNS domain entry.
  • Restricted subdomain names: Subdomain names that violate ethical, cultural, or professional values are not allowed for DNS registration. Provide unique and friendly subdomain names.
